Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Niksic-based company Uniprom, owned by Veselin Pejovic, was the largest Montenegrin exporter in the first six months, the Customs Administration says, adding that Jugopetrol from Podgorica was the biggest importer.
“The total export by top ten exporters was worth €125.63 million in the first six months,” the customs authorities told Mina-business agency.
In 2014, Uniprom acquired Aluminium Plant of Podgorica during the bankruptcy proceedings for €25.7 million. Pejovic said earlier that Uniprom had managed to maintain the production process, analyse the contemporary aluminium market, establish relevant contacts and launch the construction of new facilities, adding that it was the only way to make this industry profitable and stable.
According to the Customs Administration, Elektroprivreda is the second, while Podgrica-based company Hemomont is the third largest exporter in Montenegro.
They are followed by the Turkish company Toscelik, which controls the Ironworks of Niksic, and Pljevlja-based Gradir Montenegro.
