Strengthening of European perspective of region dubbed joint goal

Podgorica, (MINA) – The Adriatic and Ionian Initiative and the European Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region (EUSAIR) serve as the regional frameworks for cooperation between the countries with the same priority goal, that would bring to strengthening of European perspective of the region, it was heard during the meeting held in Budva.

The meeting of the Ministerial Council of the Foreign Affair Ministers of the AII and EUSAIR states, which closed a yearlong presidency of Montenegro over this regional mechanisms, took place in Budva on Wednesday.

The meeting, chaired by Minister of Foreign Affairs Srdjan Darmanovic, was attended by Foreign ministers of Serbia Ivica dacic, Bosnia and Herzegovina Igor Crnadak and Croatia Marija Pejcinovic Buric.

According to the press release, the meeting adopted the Budva declaration, which confirmed readiness of the member states to additionally intensify cooperation within the regional initiatives, strengthening thus European perspective of the region.

Darmanovic said that Montenegrin presidency confirmed strong committeeman to the regional cooperation and multilateralism, stressing out that the presidency’s priorities were directed towards intensifying of cooperator in the fields of tourism, culture, environmental protection, research and innovation, as well as that significant progress was achieved in terms of strengthening of regional relations.

Serbian foreign Minister Ivica Dacic, taking over the presidency over the initiatives, thanked to Darmanovic for successful presidency, praising Montenegro’s paying special attention to promotion of European standards and values. Longer version of article is available on a link MINA ENGLISH SERVIS
