Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Compared with same period of 2018, the number of passengers increased in all types of transport in this year’s first quarter.
According to a press release issued by Monstat, the number of passengers increased by 1.1 percent in the railway transport, 0.5 percent in the road, 2.1 percent in the local road transport, 6.4 percent at the airports, six percent in the scheduled air transport and by 23.2 percent in the non-scheduled air transport.
Compared with the first quarter of 2018, the cargo transport decreased by 24.7 percent in the railway transport, and by 13.6 percent in the Montenegrin ports, while it saw a €9.2 percent increase at the airports.
“In the first quarter, the number of trans-shipped tonnes decreased by 12 percent in Montenegrin ports, while the number of manipulated tonnes increased by 7.3 percent year on year,” the press release says.
