Podgorica, (MINA) – Representatives of the European Commission have welcomed the results achieve in the field of environment, while announcing assistance with Chapter 27, the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism has announced.
According to the Ministry’s press release, at a meeting with Minister of Sustainable Development and Tourism Pavle Radulovic on Wednesday, EC officials welcomed the progress achieved so far in the field of environment, while pledging support with the implementation of the adopted legislation and the demanding infrastructure projects.
“Representatives of the DG NEAR, DG ENV and the EU Delegation in Montenegro have placed special emphasis on the area of waste management and water quality,” the press release stated.
In that context, the EC officials reportedly underlined that importance of securing funds and continually improving the administrative capacities in this field.
Minister Radulovic introduced the EC delegation to the current state of play in the area of environment and the ongoing waste management projects, while underlining the industrial waste management project which is being implemented in cooperation with the World Bank.
He announced, as part of that project, four sites with toxic industrial waste will be rehabilitated.
