Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The Government is working on the provision of normative preconditions necessary to launch the citizenship-by-investment programme.
“The programme will be put on the agenda of the Cabinet meeting when these preconditions have been met,” the Government’s Public Relations Service told Mina-business agency.
The PR Service says that the procedures for implementation of the citizenship-by-investment programme will be defined in the coming period.
In late July, the Government adopted a communication on the economic citizenship programme and instructed institutions to create preconditions for its implementation to begin on 1 October.
The interested applicants will have an option to invest €250,000 in the development projects implemented in an underdeveloped region, or €450,000 in the projects implemented in a developed region of Montenegro, which have previously been approved by the Government.
In addition, the Government will charge up to €100,000 per application, which will be allocated to a separate fund for underdeveloped regions.
According to the Government, the programme will be open over a period limited to three years to no more than 2,000 applicants from non-EU countries with the best references.
