Masline military complex dubbed priority project

Podgorica, (MINA) – Complete reconstruction of two out of the five projects buildings in the Masline military complex and the construction plan for the new building of the General Staff of the Montenegrin Armed Forces is a priority for this year, which will mark the beginning of the transformation of former military barracks into the future headquarters of the Montenegrin Armed Forces.

This was a conclusion of Wednesday’s meeting of Defense Minister Predrag Boskovic with Director of the Public Works Administration Resad Nuhodzic and representatives of the Niksic Planning and Engineering Agency.

For the first phase of the project of the future military headquarters, the government has allocated €1.5 million from the capital budget.

“Already next year we will start the construction of the new building for the General Staff. After that, we will build the new headquarters of the Ministry of Defense. As specified in the Long Term Defense Development Plan, by 2028, this site will be completely redefined,” Boskovic stated.

The future military headquarters will accommodate the buildings of the Ministry of Defense, General Staff, Security Forces Command Center, a military hospital and a military museum.
