Delay is now a certainty

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs Osman Nurkovic has said that the Government is in the final phase of negotiations on annex to the agreement with a contractor for the priority section of the Bar-Boljare motorway, focusing on the additional works, adding that it is now certain that there will be delays in completion of this project.

“As it turns out, the works related to electricity and water supply and the Smokovac slip road have not been included in the agreement. We insisted on an urgent beginning of preparation of designs,” Nurkovic told journalists.

He expressed hope that the value of works would remain within the ten percent defined by the agreement for the unforeseen works that were not covered by the contract.

“According to some public speculations, they will cost €130 million, the analyses show that their value will be €65 million to €70 million, while the actual costs will amount to €80 million. We have tried to negotiate the most realistic price, and I expect that the annex defining this amount would be signed soon,” said Nurkovic.

He added that there would consequently be certain delays in the construction of the whole section, adding that the main focus would remain on quality.
