Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The Union of Free Trade Unions (USSCG) and the Confederation of Trade Unions (SSCG) will launch a petition for national referendum if their joint proposals for amendments to the Law Pension and Disability Insurance have not been accepted.
During the public consultations on the amendments to this piece of legislation, the USSCG Secretary General, Srdja Kekovic, announced the possibility of rallies or a general strike, if the parliament failed to support the referendum initiative.
“For now, we are closer to the general strike option, because the law on strike prescribes that all working people in Montenegro have the right to join the strike, without consequences, and are not obliged to go to work during the strike,” said Kekovic.
