Niksic, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The Deputy Prime Minister, Milutin Simovic, has said that farmers from the Municipality of Niksic requested a total of 62 investments worth €10.7 million in total, as well as around €5 million in grants.

During his visit to Niksic, he said that two public calls have been launched within the framework of the IPARD project, adding that eight entrepreneurs from this city had successfully completed the planned investments and received grants from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

These are the meat processing companies “Goranovic” and Inmes-Mark, the dairy plants Srna and Nika, the cheese plant “Miljanic”, the fruit processing plant Montenomaks, and the Banjani-based dogberry processing and drying plant Miniko.

“They invested a total of €1.47 million this year, which entitled them to €620,000 worth of grants from the national budget and the European Union funds. This boosted their production and competitiveness, while creating considerable number of jobs and the opportunity to expand the coop network of Montenegrin farmers,” Simovic said at a press conference.
