Podgorica, (MINA) – The Interior Ministry (MUP) has denied Sasa Sindjelic’s request for international protection in Montenegro.
As Vijesti daily learns, MUP determined that Sindjelic, due to crime he committed before coming to Montenegro, is excluded from the right to asylum.
According to them, during the proceedings on the request for receiving international protection, Sindjelic was interviewed twice, and the facts and circumstances based on which he requested the asylum in Montenegro have been determined.
“The nature of the facts and circumstances did not significantly impact reaching of the decision, considering the provisions of the Law on International and Temporary Protection of the Foreigners”, MUP responded.
Sindjelic can appeal to the decision to the Administrative Court.
He was a cooperating witness in the failed coup case on the Election Day 2016.
