Podgorica, (MINA) – The Election Reform Committee will continue to work, MP Predrag Sekulic argues, adding that he believes in the opposition’s return to the Parliament, because sabotaging the process is not sending a good message to either the domestic or the international public.
Sekulic stated that the work on the election laws continues even in the absence of colleagues from the opposition.
“EU representatives are encouraging us to continue with joint work. I believe that the opposition will join us in the coming period,” Sekulic told Pobjeda.
He said remarked the OSCE and Council of Europe guidelines are clear and that the first analyses have already been submitted by institutions, academics and NGO activities.
“Of course, we will continue to work and we believe in the return of the opposition colleagues and we will not adopt election laws without them,” Sekulic said.
The Social Democrats’ member in the Committee, Boris Mugosa, argues that active engagement in the Committee’s working groups is a sign of political maturity and responsibility towards citizens’ expectations.
“This expectation concerns the necessity of a joint work by all relevant stakeholders towards further improvement of the election environment, with a view to increasing public trust in the election process,” Mugosa said. Longer version of article is available on a link MINA ENGLISH SERVIS
