Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The Ministry of Finance says that it is necessary to continue enhancing the public finance management, which is of key importance for the public administration reform, adding that it is essential to improve accountability, efficiency and effectiveness in this field.
At a meeting with newly appointed Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Daniela Gasparikova, Minister of Finance Darko Radunovic sad that the Ministry had a successful cooperation with the UNDP in carrying out a series of activities within the framework of the project “Strengthening Transparent and Accountable Public Finance Management in Montenegro”.
The Ministry says in a press release that the project is supported by Slovakia.
Radulovic expressed satisfaction with the previous cooperation, saying that other projects were launched with the support of the UNDP, adding that the assistance of this international organization was of great importance for Montenegro.
The need to continue improving the public finance management as one of the key elements of the public administration reform was underlined at the meeting, as well as the necessity of improvement of accountability, efficiency and effectiveness in the public finance management.
“These are the preconditions for fulfillment of the EU accession criteria and reaching international standards,” said Gasparikova.
It was concluded at the meeting that the previous cooperation had been successful, and that there was potential for its additional improvements, on the basis of the future joint initiatives.
