Podgorica, (MINA) – The Montenegrin public administration is facing the greatest legal and translation challenge in its history, which involves expert, legal and technical editing of the EU acquis translated into the Montenegrin language, the government stated in a press release.
A three-day workshop dedicated to the issue of editing of the EU acquis translations, organized by the Office for European Integration and the Brussels-based company International Consulting Expertise, took place at the Regional School of Public Administration (ReSPA) in Danilovgrad.
The press release notes that the workshop was attended by 52 representatives of line ministries and other institutions who will be in charge of the expert, legal and technical editing of the Montenegrin translations of European legal documents.
“Since late 2014, when the process of systematic preparation of the national version of the EU acquis started, within two IPA projects, Montenegro has translated around 40,000 pages the acquis into Montenegrin and it is now high time to start working on the expert, legal and technical editing of the existing translations,” participants said at the workshop.
