Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – In this year’s Economic Freedom of the World report, published by the Fraser Institute, Montenegro is ranked 72nd out of 162 countries.
Compared with the last year’s report, it has improved its rankings by 18 places.
According to this year’s report, Montenegro’s average score is 7.04.
Among the main components of economic freedoms, Montenegro improved its ranking to 61st place in the size of government category.
It is also better ranked in the categories of legal system and property rights (89th), and freedom to trade internationally (33rd).
Somewhat weaker results have been achieved in the category of sound money (91st) and regulation (88th).
In the region, Albania and Macedonia are better ranked than Montenegro, while Croatia, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina are in the 75th, 84th and 98th place respectively.
