PM expects Milic to make herself available to court

Podgorica, (MINA) – Prime Minister Dusko Markovic has stated that he and the judicial authorities expect Branka Milic to make herself available to the court as the case against her continues.

Asked by the press what will be the outcome of Milic’s stay at the Serbian Embassy in Podgorica and what he expects from the Serbian authorities, the PM said that even the Serbian Embassy did not expect this situation.

Markovic recalled that the Foreign Ministry summoned the Serbian Ambassador, requesting an explanation, which will come within a few days.

According to him, this case cannot affect the relations between Montenegro and Serbia.

“This is not a matter of relations between the two governments. There are procedure to resolve this matter in accordance with international standards and agreements between the two states and she must make herself available to the judicial authorities and appear in court as the proceedings continue,” Markovic said.

Commenting on the proposed Resolution on the Podgorica Assembly, the PM remarked that the resolution will not produce new divisions in Montenegro, but will create opportunities for everyone to say what they feel about that historic event.

“It is clear that on that day 100 years ago Montenegro lost its state and that we will never allow that to happen again,” Markovic said.
