Number of complains grows

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – In the first three months, Baking Ombudsman was approached by 155 clients and five guarantors, ten percent more than in the same period last year.

Banking Ombudsman Halil Kalac told Mina-business agency that their number had increased in the first three months of this year primarily because of the bankruptcy proceedings launched for Atlas banka and Invest banka Montenegro (IBM).

“The clients and guarantors complained about the bank’s activities related to lending, current accounts, credit cards, and overdraft. The clients and guarantors of IBM and Atlas banka complained about the fact that their deposits had been frozen and that they could not access these funds,” said Kalac.

He added that they were also interested in their rights during the interim administration and bankruptcy proceedings.

In the first three months of this year, Banking Ombudsman processed seven complains related to banks submitted by their clients.
