Next year’s budget focuses on development

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Acting Director of the Directorate for Budget Bojan Paunovic has said that the next year’s budget, which amounts to nearly €2.4 billion, focuses on the development, strengthening of infrastructure and improvement of efficiency of public services.

He told Mina-business agency that the capital budget would increase to over €300 million, which is the largest allocation for that purpose in the recent period.

“Substantial investments will be made in the development of a priority motorway section, as well as in other transport, tourism, and education infrastructure, focusing on the northern region,” said Paunovic.

According to him, Montenegro must continue to be a big construction site in order to keep strengthening its competitiveness and contributing to the economic growth.

“The budget will allocate more funds for agriculture, education and improvement of quality of medical services and healthcare,” said Paunovic.

He added that regular payment of salaries, social welfare and increase in pensions had been provided by the budget.
