Podgorica, (MINA) – The European perspective of the countries of the Western Balkans is far better today than it used to be, Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz has stated, adding that Montenegro’s leading role in the EU accession process is unchallenged.
In an interview with Pobjeda, the Austrian Chancellor said that it is very important for the countries of the region to focus on the necessary reforms and good neighborly relations, which need to be developed further.
“If that agenda is pursued by joint efforts, then the 2025 perspective does not seem as utopia to me,” Kurz stated.
According to him, Austria, which currently holds the Presidency of the EU Council, is making efforts to ensure that chapter 27 is opened by the end of the year.
