Podgorica, (MINA) – Montenegro, as NATO’s newest member, will continue to support actively the open-door policy, especially when it comes to the aspiring member states from the region, Minister of Defense Predrag Boskovic has stated.
He met on Wednesday with newly appointed German Ambassador to Montenegro Robert Weber, who paid a visit to the Ministry of Defense.
“The meeting underlined the substantial and good cooperation between the countries in the field of defense, especially when it comes to the joint participation of troops in international missions, but also in terms of Germany’s continued support for important projects of modernizing Montenegrin defense sector,” the Defense Ministry said in a press statement.
Boskovic expressed his gratitude for the German military donation of six light armored vehicles worth €2 million.
Ambassador Weber is said to have underlined Montenegro’s contribution to the collective security system through active participation of its troops in international missions and operations, adding that Germany will continue to support Montenegro in the field of defense.
