Podgorica, (MINA) – The Montenegrin maritime protection team (AVPD) comprising nine members of the Montenegrin Armed Forces have completed their four-month mission in the EU-led Operation Atalanta at sea off the Horn of Africa.
The Ministry of Defense have stated that the Montenegrin military extended its participation the Operation Atalanta by sending autonomous vessel protection teams last April.
Chief of General Staff Dragutin Dakic congratulated the members of the Montenegrin team on the successful execution of their mission of protecting ships that carried aid to the Somali people, under the auspices of the United Nations World Food Program.
