Podgorica, (MINA) – An interim parliamentary committee, dealing with the election legislation reform and composed only of MPs, is supposed to be set up by the end of October, it was announced after the Parliament College meeting on Tuesday.
Parliament Speaker Ivan Brajovic explained that, at its latest meeting, the College reached an agreement and defined the general political principles for the work of the working group and created preconditions to move the process further ahead.
“This means that we have agreed to set up an interim parliamentary committee and that members of that committee should only be MPs,” Brajovic told the press in the Parliament.
He explained that the work of the committee will also involve representatives of NGOs, academic community and all those who can contribute to legislative amendments and improved election environment.
The Speaker said that an agreement has been reached for an operational body to produce, by Monday, a proposal for the Parliament’s decision that would be put forward to the College for consideration.
“At a meeting next week, the College will specify the text of the decision, which the Parliament will adopt at the session that will most probably start on 30 October,” Brajovic stated.
