Podgorica, (MINA) – The Government adopted the Strategic Defense Review of Montenegro, a document that gives an overview of national military capabilities and the general guidelines for the further reforms in the defense sector.
According to a government press release, the strategic planning document also sets the directions for the development of capabilities for the discharge of military missions and assignments.
State Secretary Slobodan Filipovic told the press following the Cabinet meeting on Thursday that Montenegro’s accession to NATO on 5 June 2017 marked a turning point when it comes to Montenegro’s defense concept.
“Those changes have caused the need to review, innovate and harmonize Montenegro’s entire strategic defense framework,” Filipovic explained.
