Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – On 22 and 23 April, he Ministry of Finance has successfully issued the first tranche of government bonds, which were sold for approximately €75 million.
The Ministry of Finance says in a press release that the bonds have been issued for a period of five and seven years.
According to the press release, the interest of buyers in the seven-year bonds was great, which shows that the investors have confidence in reliability of the Montenegrin securities.
The Ministry believes that this confirms the confidence in fiscal stability and that Montenegro can have the arrangements with increasingly longer maturity period.
“This shows that all measures the Government has taken in previous period produce results, increasingly strengthening Montenegro’s position in the capital market,” the Ministry says.
The Ministry announced that the second tranche of the government bonds will be issued in late May, saying that a great interest of investors is expected.
