Financing of the economic sector exceeds €800 million

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Since its establishment, the Investment and Development Fund (IRF) has invested more than €800 million in the financing of the economic sector, €377 million of which was invested in the last two years.

Chairman of the IRF Board of Directors, Zoran Vukcevic, has said that the Fund finished another successful year, focusing on the strengthening of entrepreneurship in the areas directly improving an overall economic situation in Montenegro.

“In the last two years since the election of the new government, the IRF has invested €377 million,” Vukcevic said at a press conference.

According to him, IRF originally planned to extend €450 million worth of loans in a period between 2017 and 2020.

“However, IRF invested €377 million in the previous two years, which accounts for 84 percent of the amount earmarked by this medium-term plan,” said Vukcevic.

He added that the IRF had approved over 780 projects over the previous two years, which created and preserved over 8,600 jobs.
