Financial incentives for RES cancelled

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to Minister of Economy Dragica Sekulic, the Government has adopted the regulations cancelling the incentives for renewable energy sources (RES), i.e. limiting the amount of charges the households are obliged to pay for these incentives.

She told Mina-business agency that, in the coming years, these charges would not be added to the electricity bills of the consumers from this category for the first 300 kWh they consumed.

Sekulic said that the power companies with a privileged status that had not made the planned investments would face a decrease in guaranteed prices as of 2020 at the rate of ten percent a year.

“As opposed to the previous period, there will be no correction of these prices on the basis of the inflation rate,” said Sekulic.

She said that the new regulations were the result of an analysis of current trends in that field and of practical confirmation that further rapid development of RES in Montenegro was possible without the incentives.
