Kolasin, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Milutin Simovic has said that the Government needs to take legal actions to include the equipment of the Lipovo water bottling company in the bankrupt’s estate and meet the obligations to the company’s creditors.
He said that the company had been poorly managed by its owner, businessmen Dusko Knezevic, who suspended the production, failed to pay salaries and contributions to the workers and “ran away”.
“Prior to the initiation of bankruptcy proceedings, he transferred everything that was valuable in the company to Atlas Bank. The Government needs to take legal actions and restore this equipment to the bankrupt’s estate, in order to meet the obligations to the creditors, primarily workers and the state,” Simovic said during his visit to this company.
According to a press release issued by the Ministry, he said that a solution to the company’s problem would be sought after that.
He said that it was necessary to closely monitor the bankruptcy proceedings for this company, and make sure that this process was carried out in an efficient way to the benefit of creditors.
Simovic said that his ambition for this company was to launch the water bottling again, adding however that had no confidence in the reorganization programme proposed by the “owner who behaved in this way”.
He believes that the equipment should be sold, while the company should find a partner ready to launch the production process again.
