Economic empowerment of women and youth supported

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Minister of Human and Minority Rights Mehmed Zenka has said that the Government focuses on the activities aimed at improving the visibility of women and young people in the public life and their economic empowerment.

At a panel of the Prizren Business Forum 2019, he said that Montenegro had allocated €11.4 million last year to support entrepreneurship, including 102 projects focusing on women, startups, individual farmers and people with university degrees.

According to a press release issued by the Ministry, Zenka said that the projects that had received support were diverse, involving different activities carried out by entrepreneurs.

“Montenegro has been continuously providing conditions for the inclusion of young people, women and entrepreneurs in creating added value for the society, which is an important precondition for its progress and improvement of the living standard,” said Zenka.

He reminded that the Investment and Development Fund (IRF) had been providing credit support encouraging these target groups to start their own businesses by offering very favourable financing conditions.
