Podgorica, (MINA) – President of Montenegro Milo Djukanovic disproved once again the allegations of businessman Dusko Knezevic that he took money from Knezevic and that there is a recording which can prove it.
“There is no money, nor can it exist. If I wanted to let anyone make any business deal with me, I had my chance to do it in the past 30 years”, Djukanovic said during the lecture in the German Foreign Policy Association in Berlin.
Answering to the journalists’ question, he said that this was all about the need of one man, who escaped from Montenegro after he had found himself investigated by the state authorities and who is trying to camouflage his responsibility by making accusations on the account of all relevant people in the government, including Djukanovic himself, Internet portal RTCG reports.
Djukanovic pointed out that Knezevic openly said that he asked Djukanovic to protect him from the Special Prosecutor.
“After he received a response that the things in the country do not function that way and that no one, including the head of the country, cannot protect him from legal accountability for his illegal endeavors, he is not openly in the war against me, stating all those nonsenses, with the goal of extra-institutional change of power”, said he.
Djukanovic claims that Vijesti is not an independent media outlet, but a parapolitical instrument.
