Podgorica, (MINA) – Montenegro and Hungary will advocate for preserving and improving of cooperation in fight against current security threats and challenges, with special emphasize on preventive activities against terrorism, illegal migrations and hybrid threats.
That was agreed in Budapest during the meeting between Montenegrin Defense Minister Predrag Bokovic and his Hungarian counterpart Tibor Benko.
The Defense Ministry stated that Boskovic said that Montenegro truly appreciates Hungary’s support to Montenegrin European perspective, as well as to other countries of the Western Balkans.
He confirmed Montenegro’s determination to continue with the reforms and persist on the path towards the EU, considering that following NATO membership, the European integration represent priority of the Montenegrin foreign policy.
Benko remarked that Montenegro’s NATO accession is a historical success, emphasizing Hungary’s readiness to equally strongly support Montenegro’s EU bid.
He said that the region feels mirroring the problems Europe and the world are facing today and in that context emphasized the importance of Euro-Atlantic and European integration of the Western Balkans’ countries.
The meeting agreed the evident progress in cooperation with NATO and the European Union.
