Contribution to boosting border security

Podgorica, (MINA) – The agreement between Montenegro and the European Union (EU) on the activities carried out by the European Border and Coast Guard Agency (Frontex) will contribute to improvement of border management and joint fight against illegal migrations, the Ministry of the Interior (MUP) stated.

The agreement was initialed in Brussels on Tuesday by Minister Mevludin Nuhodic and EU Commissioner for Migration, Home Affairs and Citizenship Dimitris Avramopoulos.

According to Nuhodzic, one of the priorities in the EU Enlargement Strategy on the Western Balkans is the strengthening of operational and strategic cooperation in the field of border security.

The challenges we face are common and the only way to address them is by working together”, Avramopoulos emphasized.
