Cetinje signs a Memorandum of Understanding with the UNDP

Cetinje, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The Memorandum of Understanding signed today between the local administration of Cetinje and the United National Development Programme (UNDP), is aimed at encouraging the development of green jobs and boosting employment in general.

Mayor of Cetinje Aleksadar Kascelan and the UNDP Resident Representative to Montenegro Daniela Gasparikova agreed at the ceremony organized at the Business Centre of Cetinje that the Memorandum reflected their good, comprehensive and focused cooperation.

“The public interest has always been the root of this cooperation, as well as an important step in the improvement of our partnership, as it obligates us not only to growth but also to the so-called green growth,” says a press release issued by the Mayor’s Office.

Kascelan said that job creation, development of entrepreneurship and SMEs, employment of the young, innovative and talented people, development of a favourable business climate, were the tasks the local administration had been committed to.

Gasparikova reminded that the UNDP had recently organized the international conference “Green Days” as a starting point for the fulfilment of Montenegro’s vision in the field or green economy and sustainability.

She underlined that today’s event in Cetinje transformed the conclusions of the conference into concrete activities at the local level.

She said that the UNDP’s goal was to support Montenegro’s timely, predictable and controlled green transformation. Longer version of article is available on a link MINA ENGLISH SERVIS
