Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The government representatives believe that electronic fiscalization will provide complete data on the actual turnover, allowing the authorities to use control resources and tackle informal economy in a more efficient way.
The Minister of Finance, Darko Radunovic, has said that one of the goals of the Law on Fiscalizaton in the Trade in Products and Services is to ensure an efficient control of the transactions, aimed at tackling the informal economy.
“Moreover, it will result in a gradual reduction of tax administration, which will facilitate the calculation and payment of taxes for the taxpayers, and create conditions for an efficient management of tax controls and the collection enforcement procedures on the basis of clear data on the operation of taxpayers,” said Radunovic.
At a round table on the draft law and planned electronic fiscalization project, organized by the Ministry of Finance, he said that the current fiscalization system was based on the software solution, adding that it covered part of the turnover that was carried out in cash.
“It does not provide complete data on the operation and does not reflect the economic power of the taxpayers. The system is based on the electronic data transfer and covers all types of turnover, regardless of the manner of payment,” said Radunovic.
According to him, the tax collection rate is not good, which is the reason why the performance of the Tax Administration should be boosted through the new piece of legislation.
