Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Minister of Transport Osman Nurkovic has said that three bridges are completely built, while the first segment of the Moracica bridge was connected on the priority section of the Bar-Boljare motorway, adding that the finalization of works is expected in September of 2020.
Having visited the whole priority section, he expressed satisfaction with the scope of works carried out on bridges, tunnels and the open road.
Nurkovic reiterated that he expected that a new deadline for completion of works would be met.
“The understanding of all stakeholders and assistance to the contactor are necessary in order to see this important project finalized,” said Nurkovic.
Around 96 percent of works on piers and foundations have been completed, as well as approximately 54 percent of works on bridge superstructure.
The superstructures of three bridges: Gornje Mrke, Suvovara and Preslo have been built, while only one lane has been completed on five bridges: Mistica, Uvac 1, Uvac 3, Pajkov Vir and Jabuka.
“Eighty percent of works on the superstructure of the Moracica bridge has been completed,” the press release says.
Out of a total of 16 tunnels, 15 have been bored through, while another 20 metres of the right tube of the Matesevo tunnel remain to be finished.
Nurkovic said that several problems had been identified during his visit of the motorway route.
It has been concluded that all stakeholders will participate in resolving these problems.
Nurkovic reminded that, in addition to the motorway route, a total of 65 kilometres of access roads had been built, which was another benefit of the motorway construction.
He invited everybody to have understanding for the environmental impact of the motorway development, reminding that the contractor was obliged to protect the environment as much as possible.
