Podgorica, (MINA) – The decision by PM Dusko Markovic to order termination of the contract on construction of a kindergarten in the schoolyard of the Grammar School in Bar is a victory of all free citizens, the Civic Initiative of Bar stated.
A representative of the Civic Initiative representatives, which opposes the construction of the kindergarten in the schoolyard, Rialda Kurgas, said that they are satisfied with this small victory they have achieved.
She told Mina that it is very important that the Municipality now takes the role which it should have had from the beginning and professionally and promptly finds a new location for the new kindergarten.
“We want to stress that our motto from the beginning was “Both kindergarten and cypresses”. We have demanded that the kindergarten be built on a new location, not in a new city”, Kurgas said.
Commenting on the allegations that this civic group was politicized, she said that city planning and welfare of its citizens are the most important forms of politics the citizens could be involved into.
Kurgas said that they will not give up other demands.
“The first demand was to terminate the construction works in the schoolyard and the second one was to restore the park. We will continue to work towards the restoration of the park”, said Kurgas.
