Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – It was concluded at a regular meeting Prime Minister Dusko Markovic had with heads of the tax, customs, and inspection authorities that the total tax debt had been reduced by around €140 million.
The Government says in a press release that excellent results have been achieved in the field of economic policy, public finance consolidation and collection of revenues.
Director of the Tax Administration Miomir M. Mugosa said that, compared with 2017, €117 million more had been collected last year.
According to Director of the Customs Administration Vladan Jokovic, the revenues collected in 2018 were €80 million higher than in the previous year.
Director of the Administration for Inspection Affairs Alija Kosuta said that over 57,000 inspections had been carried out last year, resulting in the fines amounting to €5.1 million.
Markovic said that a comprehensive and continuous activities of the inspection, police and prosecution authorities were necessary in the coming period in order to tackle the informal economy in an efficient way.
The meeting was attended by deputy prime ministers Milutin Simovic and Zoran Pazin, ministers of finance, economy and tourism, Darko Radunovic, Dragica Sekulic and Pavle Radulovic, Director of the Police Administration Veselin Veljovic and Senior State Prosecutor Milos Soskic.
