Stable and secure Balkans dubbed priority

Podgorica, (MINA) – Stable and prosperous Western Balkans is a priority for the member states and observers at the U.S.-Adriatic Charger (A5) and European and Euro-Atlantic integration play a critical role in attaining that goal, Foreign Minister Srdjan Darmanovic has stated.

Addressing a press conference following a meetings of A5 foreign ministers in Podgorica on Tuesday, Darmanovic said that during its presidency of the A5, Montenegro has been committed to promoting the Euro-Atlantic aspirations of the countries of the region and actively supporting the implementation of reforms towards their NATO membership.

The Montenegrin Foreign Minister noted that the U.S.-Adriatic Charter is one of the best regional cooperation platforms in the area of security and integration.

“A priority for all A5 members and observers is a stable Western Balkans, and European and Euro-Atlantic integration is very important for attaining that goal,” Darmanovic said, adding that the Montenegrin Presidency placed a special focus on Macedonia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
