Public call launched 

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism and the National Tourism Organization have launched a public call offering incentives worth €800,000 to the tourism industry.

The incentives are expected to contribute to the improvement of the tourism products, tourism revenues growth, extension of the tourism season and creation of jobs for the local population.

According to the public call, the eligible beneficiaries, including the citizens, rural population, business and sports organizations, nongovernmental organizations, local tourism organizations, can apply for the grants in six different fields over the next three weeks.

Head of the Directorate for Event Monitoring and Development Nikola Raznatovic said that the purpose of the incentives programme was to enrich and increase the quality of the tourism products and to improve the marketing activities in order to attract tourists from new outbound markets.

“The total funds earmarked for the incentives in 2019 and 2020 amount to €550,000, including €350,000 provided by the Ministry and €200,000 provided by the NTO,” Raznatovic said at a press conference.

The support is available for the development of innovative tourism products, organization of the association of private accommodation providers, event organizing, development of MICE tourism, promotion at international events organized abroad, and promotion of traditional Montenegrin cuisine and products in Montenegro and abroad.
