Podgorica, (MINA) – An agreement for the Police Administration to become an autonomous state authority has already been reached within the Government and the only thing that remains to be done is to introduce this provision into the new law on internal affairs, Vijesti reports.
The new Bill on Sate Administration reportedly creates formal possibilities for the Police Administration to become a stand-alone state authority.
The Police Administration have said that they will respect the Government’s, whatever it may be.
“The Police Administration is a body within the Ministry of Interior, whereas in the previous period it used to be an autonomous state authority. The questions of potential autonomous functioning of the police lies within the government’s remit,” the police have stated.
