Personal income tax revenues higher by €2.5 million

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – It was concluded at a meeting the Government representatives had with the local authorities that the revenues coming from the personal income tax at the local level amounted to €6.15 million in the first quarter, €2.5 million more than in the corresponding period.

“Transfers from the Equality Fund increased by 1.29 million compared with the first three months of the last year,” The Ministry of Finance says in a press release.

The press release says that the indicators of the current financial situation and the problems faced by local administrations were discussed at the meeting, which focused on the monitoring of effects of implementation of the Law on the Financing of Local Self-Government.

“The comparative data for the first quarter of the last year shows that the implementation of this law has produced the expected positive results,” the Ministry says, adding that all participants in the meeting expressed satisfaction with the results of application of new legal provisions.

Bilingual brochures with the Law on the Financing of Local Self-Government and relevant secondary legislation, published within the framework of the project “Strengthening Transparent and Accountable Public Finance Management,” implemented in cooperation with the UNDP, were distributed at the meeting.
