Podgorica, (MINA) – The civic protests, as a form of pressuring the regime, are crucial, but other stakeholders must show to the citizens that the alternative exists and restore their trust in democracy, institutions and fair society, said leader of the Resist movement Dzemal Perovic.
He told Mina that signing of the Agreement for the future was observed as historical, and the only way of changing the regime.
Perovic remarked that the movement expected that all those with political interest, those who supported it declaratively and have infrastructure for its realization, would have made sure that the Agreement would be followed through.
According to Perovic, the protests are crucial as a form of pressuring the regime.
“But if the citizens already know what they do not want to endure and what they resist, other stakeholders must offer hope to the citizens that there is alternative and that they are determined to restore trust of the citizens in democracy, institutions and just society”, Perovic said.
He stated that the movement is not as dissatisfied with cooperation with the opposition as they are dissatisfied with cooperation among the opposition.
Perovic remarked that they are expecting the call from Brussels and that the main messages they want to convey there are already in the Agreement.
He stated that their partners in the EU will hear that “the corrupted regime captured all national institutions and therefore the lives of all citizens of Montenegro”.
They had been planning to send “We are the Europe” message on the Europe Day, but gave up organizing rally on that day, after the Democratic Bloc insisted that the rally held on that day, when a ruling in the Coup d’Etat case are to be announced, could harm the protests.
Asked about their biggest success, he said that it is the citizens’ rebellion and their determination to fight for their rights and freedoms.
