Parliament Speaker to invite all parties to give their opinion

Podgorica, (MINA) – Parliament Speaker Ivan Brajovic has announced that he will invite the leaders of the parliamentary parties and the MPs out the parliamentary groups to give their opinion in relation to the future working body that will be dealing with amendments to the election legislation.

Following a meeting of the Parliament’s College on Thursday, Brajovic said that the talks about the establishment and the work methodology of the future working body had continued, adding that the level of participation of party representatives had increased between the two College meetings.

According to him five out of the six parliamentary group that are actively participating in the Parliament are taking part in the College meetings.

“The only ones that are missing are representatives of the Democrats, who are very vociferously advocating the formation of the working body and I would say that they need to take practical steps as soon as possible and start working in the Parliament in order to create conditions for a more favorable election legislation and environment,” Brajovic noted.

According to him, the latest College meeting discussed different options for the organizational structure and the scope of work of the future parliamentary body.

He announced that next Thursday he intends to invite all the leaders of parliamentary parties as well as the MPs working outside the parliamentary groups to give their opinion on the future work of this body.

Brajovic denied the allegations that NGOs have been left out from the process.

“It is not true that we have closed the door to anyone. The MPs will have voting rights, but relevant NGOs, the academic community and all those who can help create a better election environment and a better election environment will have the righ to participate,” the Parliament Speaker explained.
