Montenegro is model for civic society, says Djukanovic

Podgorica, (MINA) – By hard work and results in building the concept of a civic society, Montenegro is increasingly becoming a model for other countries, Montenegrin President Milo Djukanovic has stated.

Speaking at a reception marking the United Nations Day in Cetinje on Friday, the President noted that this year’s ceremony is especially important, as it marks seven decades of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and quarter of a century since the adoption of the Vienna Declaration and the Program of Action.

He stressed that in today’s world, which is faced with numerous uncertainties, there is no alternative to multilateralism and the EU as its pillar, to which Montenegro remains unreservedly committed.

The president stated that Montenegro will continue to be a reliable partner and promoter of UN policies in all areas.

Djukanovic thanked the UN system in Montenegro for what he described as unwavering support in implementing reforms, proactive approach, commitment and continued help provided on Montenegro’s EU accession path.
