Podgorica, (MINA) – Branka Milic, a defendant in the case of the 2016 election day terror plot, said in a written statement on Monday that she had no interest in illegally leaving Montenegro before the end of the trial at the Higher Court.
She argues that she could have fled Montenegro many times in the past year.
Milic claims that she took refuge at the Serbian Embassy in Podgorica in order to protect herself from what she described as ‘a two-year political, legal, procedural, psychological and physical persecution, discrimination, abuse and torture’.
“During my stay at the Embassy, my lawyers told me that Judge Suzana Mugosa had ordered my detention, as the most serious procedural measure of coercion. I absolutely have no interest in illegally leaving Montenegro before the end of this trial, which I could have done on many occasions in the past year,” the defendant said, as quoted by Vijesti.
Milic claims that during her recent medical examination at the premises of the Higher Court, medical expert witness Miodrag Soc took pictures of her intimate body parts with a mobile phone, although her medical file did not identify those areas as being affected by illness, adding also that he had no right to present the findings of the exemination publicly, which he did.
