Podgorica, (MINA) – Prime Minister Dusko Markovic has stated that he and head of state Milo Djukanovic have regular professional and political communication, dismissing as pointless the public appeals that he should take the leadership of the ‘healthy tissue’ in the ruling DPS.
Markovic stressed that the whole DPS is a healthy tissue.
“This party has ensured development and prosperity and it is creating conditions for a stable economic development. The pointless requests are not forbidden, but they are not affecting me,” Markovic told a press conference following a meeting of the DPS Election Program Monitoring Council on Saturday.
He also dismissed as absurd the claims that he did not stand in Djukanovic’s defense.
“I have regular communication, both professional and political with Djukanovic, about important topics concerning the state and the party. Government has always timely responded to any attack on him personally or on our policy in a very short period of time,” Markovic said.
“When it comes to our relations, I can say that I would wish for our party to be as long lasting as the professional and political relations between the two of us,” Markovic stated.
Commenting on the opposition’s demands for a technical government, the PM reiterated that every request is legitimate.
“Every request is legitimate. Government as formed after elections. Can you imagine every street protest being a reason to set up a technical government?”, said Markovic, adding that the request is unacceptable at the moment. Longer version of article is available on a link MINA ENGLISH SERVIS
