IMF forecasts a 2.8 percent growth

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – In its latest World Economic Outlook, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has increased this year’s economic growth forecast for Montenegro to 2.8 percent.

According to the report published in October, the IMF expected a 2.5 percent real DGP growth in Montenegro.

The latest report titled “Growth Slowdown, Precarious Recovery” says that Montenegro’s economy saw a 4.5 percent growth in 2018, as opposed to a 3.7 percent growth projected in October.

The IMF expects that Montenegro’s economy will grow by 2.5 percent in 2020 and by 2.9 percent in 2024.

According to the forecast, the inflation rate will be at 0.9 percent this year and at 1.7 percent in 2020.

Compared with its January outlook, the IMF lowered its forecast for the global economic growth for this year by 0.2 points to 3.3 percent. Longer version of article is available on a link MINA ENGLISH SERVIS
