Government sees digitalization as a strategic goal

Cetinje, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Minister of Public Administration Suzana Pribilovic has said that the development of eGovernment is one of the most important mechanisms facilitating the reform the ICT sector and improving the public administration, which is evident from the fact that the Government sees digitalization in the process of provision of services as a strategic goal.

Opening a two-day conference on public administration in the digitalization process, she said that this was a very important process for the Government in terms of reduction of costs, improvement of efficiency and facilitating access to information.

At the conference, organized by the Ministry of Public Administration, in cooperation with the Human Resources Management Authority, Pribilovic said that the digital transformation process was unstoppable.

“The mission of the Ministry and all other public administration authorities is to monitor this process and live up to our task in order to achieve the main goal – to have the public administration that is citizen- and economy-oriented,” said Pribilovic.

She said that there were many challenges in this process, adding that they were being addressed on daily basis.

The Ministry says in a press release that Montenegro has done a lot in terms of development of eGovernment, which is evident from a UN survey, according to which it is at the same level globally as the countries with a high development index for eGovernment, and is ranked very high in the region.
