Government invests over €1 billion in the northern region

Bijelo Polje, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to Prime Minister Dusko Markovic, having invested over €1 billion since the beginning of its terms of office, the Government became the largest investor in northern Montenegro, paving the way for its further development.

At the first Bijelo Polje Business Forum, he said that a synergy of the state, private companies and individuals should be proven in practice in order to make Montenegro, in partnership with its Diaspora, a place where people would enjoy the same quality of life as the European citizens.

“At the end of this year, the investments in the northern region will have exceeded €1 billion. A total of 670,000 million has been invested in the previous two years, while we plan to invest €430 million this year,” said Markovic.

According to a press release issued by the Government’s Public Relations Service, he said that it was no longer necessary to talk about the need to invest in the northern region.

The Forum, which brought together around a hundred entrepreneurs from Montenegro and abroad, was attended by Minister of Economy Dragica Sekulic, President of the Chamber of Commerce (PKCG) Vlastimir Golubovic, and Mayor of Bijelo Polje Petar Smolovic.
