Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The Central Bank (CBCG) has said that an efficient credit risk management is the basis for successful banking, adding that it involves a timely identification of risk and adequate pre-emptive protection measures.
The CBCG Government Radoje Zugic met with a team of the International Monetary Fund, who came on the occasion of implementation of the technical assistance programme aimed at evaluating credit risk management in the banking sector.
“Zugic thanked the IMF representatives, saying that the CBCG is very satisfied with the cooperation with this institution and that its entire capacities will be focused on the successful implementation of the forthcoming project,” the press release says.
Zugic informed the IMF experts about the current situation in the Montenegrin banking sector and intensive regulatory activities focusing on the harmonization with EU directives, introduction of best practices and strengthening of supervisory functions.
