Dialogue on election legislation reform to be continued

Podgorica, (MINA) – Dialogue in the Parliament about reforming the election legislation should be continued, President Milo Djukanovic and Head of the EU Delegation in Montenegro Aivo Orav stated at a meeting on Tuesday.

According to a press release from the President’s Office, Djukanovic hosted Orav ahead of Wednesday’s working lunch between the Western Balkan leaders and EU High Representative Federica Mogherini in Brussels.

Orav is said to have congratulated Montenegro on the opening of Chapter 27 in the EU accession talks, while expressing hope that progress in the integration process will be continued.

Djukanovic thanked the European Commissions and the EU Delegation for their support and contribution to what he described as a joint success.

“Both sides underlined the need for the continuation of dialogue in the Parliament about the election legislation reform and other issues within the remit of the interim committee, including a response to the challenges in the media environment, with the involvement of all stakeholders,” the press release stated.

Orav is said to have welcomed the constructive role of the parties that participated in establishing the interim committee.
