Budget revenues increase by eight percent

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – State Secretary at the Ministry of Finance Nemanja Katnic has said that the budget revenues collected between January and July this year amounted to €997.9 million, eight percent more than in the same period last year.

“Compared with the plan defined by the budget review, the revenues are higher by €10.2 million or one percent,” Katnic said after a Cabinet meeting.

According to him, the main positive departure from the plan was seen with the revenues coming from the excise duties on tobacco and tobacco products, which were higher by €2.1 million or 10.2 percent.

“The budget revenues collected in July amounted to €173.9 million, up 8.3 percent year on year,” Katnic said, adding that the revenues were 6.2 percent higher than planned for this period.

Presenting a report on the activities aimed at tackling the informal economy with the proposed measures, he said that better results could be achieved in that field, adding that the authorities would focus on improving the performance in the coming period.
